“I think I can run for President of Philippines with this result,” Qatar coach Tom Wisman joked after helming the GCC champions to a 71-68 win stopping the five-game winning streak of Chinese Taipei to upset all the calculations in Group E Second Round on Wednesday.

Qatar’s win while tying them with Taipei and Philippines – should the home team win as expected against Hong Kong later in the day – also threw open the chance for the Gilas to top the Group E and avoid reigning champions China in quarterfinals.
