Qatar opened up the game in the early part of the second half and breezed away to glory after that for a surprisingly facile 75-61 win over Jordan in Group E Second Round game on Monday. With the strength of the two wins they carry forward from Group B Prelim Round, the 2012 GCC Championship now look all set for a place in the quarterfinals. Jordan, the 26th FIBA Asia Championship silver medalists on the other hand will look to open the account in the wins column when they play Hong Kong on the morrow.

“We are counting on producing a run like last time,” said Jordan playmaker Wesam Al-Sous recalling the dream run of two years ago when Jordan from an almost similar situation like now went on a spree all the way till the gold medal game.
