Caracas, Venezuela - In a hard fought match, Argentina defeated Venezuela, 77-71, to recover after the tough loss to the Dominican Republic and settled well in Group B of the FIBA Americas Championship in Caracas, Venezuela. The set of Julio Lamas was down most of the game and won despite losing captain Luis Scola, because of fouls. Facundo Campazzo was the best scorer for Argentina with 18 points.
